1# Bávaro Beach – Punta Cana
Punta Cana has many beautiful beaches but none like Bávaro Beach. It is a world class beach that attracts millions of tourists from all over the worl. Punta Cana is the economic engine of the Dominican Republic, and one of the most popular destination in the World, so it makes sense that its beaches are first class and among the best of the best.
2# Playa Dorada – Puerto Plata City
What used to be a public beach has been completely privatized by the resorts and hotels. Nonetheless, Playa Dorada – located in Puerto Plata is our second most beautiful beach in the Dominican Republic.
3# Playa Sosua (Sosua Beach) – Sosua
Sosua beach is a public beach, open to all – locals and tourists, located in the resort beach town of Sosua. I have been to Sosua beach more times than I can count, and each time I visit… I am inspired and in awe. Truly, Sosua beach is one of the most beautiful beaches not just in the Dominican Republic, but in the world. It is a huge golden sandy beach, located in a sheltered cove with Mount Isabel Del Torres in the Distance. The beach attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors a year – both locals and tourists from abroad. Lining the beach is a plethora of restaurants and little gift shops.
4# Cabarete Beach – Cabarete
Caberete beach is one of the most romantic beaches in the country due to the beautifully decorated lights that light up the beach at night. Caberete beach is a couple’s dream come. It is a very romantic beach that hosts a lot of weddings, birthday parties and other events.
5# Playa Boca Chica – Santo Domingo Province
Perhaps the most calm and peaceful beach in the whole country, this beach is located about 50 minutes from the capital Santo Domingo in a small town called Boca Chica. The beach faces in the Caribbean Sea and is beautiful and very calm. Not as much sand as the other beaches in the country, it has a rockier feel to it but a beautiful beach, nonetheless. The beach attracts a lot of tourists, in particular – European tourists due to Boca Chica’s proximity to the capital Santo Domingo. They fly into the capital and make their way to Boca Chica.
6# Bahía de Las Galeras
A highly rated beach, almost everyone who visits gives it a 5 stars rating on Google reviews, and other places. It is located in the Municipal district of Santa Bárbara de Samaná. Not much more to add other than go! We highly recommend it.
7# Cayo Levantado – Samana
This remote island of the coast of the Samana Peninsula is perfect for those who grave privacy. Not only is this place very private but boasts some of the best beaches in the country. The island is home to Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado, a breath taking beautiful 5-star resort. The word “Woah” is the most popular word for newcomers.
8# Kite Beach – Caberete
If you love surfing, or Kite surfing, then this beach is for you. It is the best Kite surfing beach in the Dominican Republic and is very popular for hosting a lot of water sports. This fun and sporty beach is located in the small town of Caberete.
9# Playa Rincón – Samana
Can a beach be one of the best beaches in the whole country but remain largely undeveloped and remote? Yes… welcome to Playa Rincon. This beautiful beach is in the eastern part of the Samana Peninsula. The water is stunning, clean, and great to swim in. It is quiet, relaxing and is the perfect hideout spot for individuals who like to be alone, and enjoy a quieter and more peaceful atmosphere.
10# Playa Juan Dolio – province of San Pedro de Macoris
And last but not least, Playa Juan Dolio could just as easily be in the top 5, but it will round out our top 10. It along with Boca Chica are some of the most quiet and peaceful beaches in the Dominican Republic. It is an excellent place for a fun family vacation.
